Gallery Galschiøt and the homes are located on the outskirts of Odense, Næsby, and is a quiet and attractive villa neighborhood with kindergartens, good school, and shopping opportunities (Fakta, Superbrugsen, Rema 1000, Netto - and up to more hairdressers :-)) a few hundred meters away. There are bike paths all the way into the center. If you choose it directly road there is only 3.3 km to the center and about 1½ km to Odense harbor. It is also located right next to a path system, which provides access to the larger nature areas located in the surroundings, e.g. Stavis Ådal.
The entire residential area is connected and is centered around the Sculpture Park and Østhaven, each approx. 2-3,000 m2 (see drawings). The whole area is surrounded by nature fences, so it is a brilliant and safe place to have children.
All courtyard areas are covered with tiled stones with inlaid mosaic strips of granite and marble
More about the residential area
Information:
Galschiøt workshops and the gallery is a workplace and not as such part of the common area. Residents in the area therefore do not automatically have a right to use the facilities of the workshop and gallery. But of course you have the opportunity - like everyone else - to participate in events in the gallery and visit galleries and workshops.
The buildings are an old body factory and consist of: Galschiøt's studio / administration (800 m2), Galleries / shop, where there are conferences, exhibitions, concerts with permission for 550 people (700 m2), a bronze foundry (100m2), a pantry / dishwasher kitchen (100m2), an art school (100m2), a wicker studio (100m2) and a TV studio OSRTV (200m2).
There is public access to the gallery weekdays at 9 - 17 and Sundays at 12 - 16. Guests also have access to The sculpture park - then you sit in the park, you can maybe have a good chat with some of the exciting ones visitors, if one is for it.
However, all households have their own clearly defined private area with garden and / or terrace, which guests of course do not have access to.
We try to create a completely CO2-neutral area, where we become part of the solution instead of the problem, and where we can live and work with a clear conscience. It seems to be succeeding very well We have built one of Odense's largest solar cell systems of 1400m2 and placed it on Galleri Galschiøt's roof surfaces.
We produce 270,000 kw of electricity annually. By using the electricity for the home and the gallery area's electricity supply and pumping hundreds of thousands of kw of electricity back into the electricity grid, we push black electricity out and thereby earn CO2 that can compensate for both the gallery, the workshop and the buildings' CO2 consumption and thereby make us CO2 neutral.
We are betting that all homes will be supplied with electricity from the photovoltaic system, however, we currently have some problems with permission from the Danish Energy Agency.
We have waste sorting and charging stations are established with solar power for any. electric cars.
The heat will probably be CO2 friendly district heating
Det nye solcelleanlæg på Galleri Galschiøt, generere nok energi til at gøre hele værkstedet CO2 neutralt. Anlægget genererer tilmed en stor mængde overskydende strøm tilbage til elnettet
